Structural and High Tensile Fasteners, Made in Ludhiana Since 2009

S R Forgings began trading in September 2009 and manufactures structural and high tensile fasteners at Focal Point, Ludhiana. Our work is concentrated in construction, infrastructure and heavy engineering — headed shear connector studs, PSR studs and stud rails, HSFG bolts to IS 3757, foundation and anchor bolt assemblies, tunnel segment bolts, ASTM A193 B7 and B7M stud bolts, arc weld studs to ISO 13918, threaded bars, nuts, DTI washers and fasteners made to customer drawings.

Property Classes 4.6 to 12.9
DIN, ISO, IS, BS, ANSI, JIS & ASTM
HSFG Bolts Made Up To
75 mm Diameter
Bolts Made Up To 2500 mm Long

Threads are cut or rolled to UNC, UNF, BSW, ACME or to the drawing. Where a job falls outside a standard — an unusual head, a long shank, a welded assembly, a grade with a specified elongation — it is made to the drawing and certified to what was actually made.

Our Journey

S R Forgings began trading on 7 September 2009 and was incorporated two days later, on 09/09/09, at Focal Point, Ludhiana. It started as a forging unit making general fasteners, and grew in the direction its customers pulled it — towards the structural end of the trade, where the drawing matters more than the catalogue number and where a fastener has to carry load rather than simply hold something in place.

That shift brought us into construction and infrastructure. Headed shear connector studs and PSR studs for composite floors. HSFG bolts for bridges and structural steelwork. Foundation and anchor bolt assemblies, welded up with plates, gussets and sleeves to whatever the drawing shows. Tunnel segment bolts for metro tunnelling. B7 and B7M stud bolts for high temperature and pressure service. Along the way the work reached aircraft hangar structures, thermal power plants, data centre construction, Kanpur Metro, bridges and road over bridges, and a vendor approval at BHEL Industrial Valves Plant.

Export followed the same route. PSR studs made in Ludhiana are supplied to the United States — punching shear reinforcement is a designed product rather than a commodity fastener, and getting it accepted in that market meant the drawings, the material and the certification all had to hold up to inspection from a long way away. That discipline is now applied to everything that leaves the works.

Seventeen years on, the range runs from property class 4.6 to 12.9, in sizes up to 75 mm diameter HSFG and lengths up to 2500 mm, to DIN, ISO, IS, BS, ANSI, JIS and ASTM. Details of presses and plant are on our infrastructure page.

WHAT WE MAKE
Our Products

Headed shear connector studs, PSR studs and stud rails. HSFG bolts, nuts and washers to IS 3757, with customised HSFG made where a project calls for it. Foundation and anchor bolt assemblies, straight and welded plate type, with plates, gussets, sleeves and tuck nuts. Tunnel segment bolts. ASTM A193 B7 and B7M stud bolts. Arc weld studs to ISO 13918 in types PD, RD and UD, supplied with matched ceramic ferrules. Threaded bars, hex and square head bolts, socket head cap screws, fish bolts, track shoe bolts, DTI washers and assemblies made to drawing.

HOW WE WORK
Our Method

Steel is bought against grade for the property class being made, and heat treatment is planned around what the section will actually take in the quench. Parts are checked dimensionally before and after coating. Plating and hot dip galvanising are outsourced to specialist units, deliberately — effluent treatment is a discipline of its own and we would rather it were done properly by people who do only that than badly by us. Test certificates state what was made and what was measured, not what the standard says it should be.

WHAT WE WILL NOT DO
Where We Say No

We will not put boron steel under hot dip galvanising. We will not stamp a property class onto a part that has not been heat treated to reach it. We will not accept a section we cannot quench through, and we will say so at enquiry stage rather than at delivery. Where a drawing asks for something that will not work — a grade wrong for the coating, a thread wrong for the service, a length beyond what the process allows — we raise it before the order, not after. A fastener that fails on site costs everyone far more than the order was worth.

Where Our Fasteners Have Gone

Fasteners made here have been supplied, through main contractors and steel fabricators, to:

  • Aircraft hangar structures
  • Data centre construction
  • Thermal power plants
  • Kanpur Metro
  • Metro rail tunnelling, segment bolts and assemblies
  • Bridges, road over bridges and industrial structures
  • PSR studs exported to the United States

Project names are given here; customer names are not, and are only shared where the customer has agreed. Most of this work came through contractors and fabricators who returned with the next project, which is the reference we would rather have than a logo wall.

Our Products Range

  • Shear Connector Studs
  • PSR Studs & Stud Rails
  • HSFG Bolts, Nuts & Washers
  • Foundation & Anchor Bolts
  • Tunnel Segment Bolts
  • B7 & B7M Stud Bolts
  • Arc Weld Studs, ISO 13918
  • High Tensile Nuts & Bolts
  • DTI Washers
  • Threaded Bars & Studs
  • J & U Bolts
  • Fasteners To Drawing

How A Bolt Is Made Here

Every order runs the same route through the works, and each step is recorded against the lot so a certificate can be traced back to the bar it came from:

  • Raw Material & Grade Check
  • Cutting
  • Hot Or Cold Forging
  • Machining
  • Heat Treatment
  • Thread Rolling Or Cutting
  • Inspection & Testing
  • Coating
  • Final Check & Despatch

Certification & Approvals

ZED Silver certificate awarded to S R Forgings under the MSME Sustainable ZED Certification Scheme

ZED Silver under the MSME Sustainable (ZED) Certification Scheme, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Certificate no. 21012026_452041, issued 21 January 2026, valid three years. Udyam registration UDYAM-PB-12-0056636.

Approved vendor, BHEL Industrial Valves Plant. The approval is specific to that plant and we state it that way rather than as a general BHEL approval.

Material test certificates are issued with every despatch, stating the heat number, the mechanical properties measured on the lot and the standard the part was made to. Where third party inspection is called for by the project, we work to it.

Send Us A Drawing, Not Just A Part Number

Most of what leaves this works is made to a project drawing rather than picked from a catalogue. Send the drawing, the grade, the coating and the quantity, and you will get a straight answer on whether it is a job for us and how long it will take.
